The one and only Alyssa Miller

BEWARE OF BOOTLEG COPYCATS!!

I had to write something about this because I feel its important and very simple actually... COPYING OTHERS IDEAS WILL GET YOU NOWHERE in this business.

Originality and Innovation is the key to success.

Our ideas are the only things we have that makes us who we are as artists. If you try and make a career out of replicating what others have done, you will soon find out that it will lead you nowhere. True advancement as an artist comes with a lot of effort...

So when someone emailed me the story below, I was in TOTAL SHOCK at the lack of fear that someone had to replicate my idea EXACTLY (you know what I mean) and  try and make them there own. Im glad to have inspired this person greatly, but it does nothing for them as artists to just copy what I did.

Enjoy the process of being original, its the best part of being creative. THINK about things on your own and you never know what you can come up with (corny but true). I hope to continue to inspire those of you who see my work, but I want to also encourage you to be original and you will find out who you are as artists.

Below is the original story I did with photographer Ryan Michael Kelly as seen in MISSBEHAVE magazine issue #5 (M.I.A. is on the cover).

This is the story I was emailed by photographer Mel McVeigh ] Photographer.
I wish her a lot of luck with her future shoots, and I hope she finds her own original inspiration that will lead to discovering her true style as a photographer.

Theres nothing worse then someone ripping off your idea to the extent this team did. Its CRAZY!

FInally, I wrote this entry just to let people know how important it is to be original. Know your references, know your competition, and fight to break through with  originality and innovation. Thats what I strive for...
